Task two - creativity

How did you use media forms to come up with something new and original ? Where did ideas come from? When it came to planning our film we first picked a genre that we were all most interested in. We finally decided to make a horror movie and started to look at other horror films like scream and the shining and wrote down the key parts and all the conventions that we would need to include in our film to make it successful. We the researched settings that would be good for a horror movie and decided that a house would be most conventional, following this we made a mood board with other ideas of different settings in-case we were unable to arrange to film at someones house. How did you work collaboratively to share ideas? The girl on the train: The genre of this film is a thriller, the audience are able to work this out by the way the whole trailer is based around a murder of a girl called Megan. The audience are made to believe that one of the main characters called Rachel is responsible for Megan’s death however little do they know, it was all Rachel’s imagination and Rachel is not the killer of Megan. They have used the song ‘Heartless ‘by the well known singer Kanye West. The song fits in well with the trailer because he is singing about being heartless and being cold and to have the capability and mentality to kill another human makes you heartless and cold blooded. At the beginning of the trailer they focus mainly on the girl who gets murdered in the film (Megan) and she is speaking about all the struggled she is facing. Task one digital technology

How did you use media technologies in construction and research, planning and evaluation stages? We made our story board by creating pictures on an iPhone and then editing it on Adobe so that in the end we had a short movie which was an effective way of making a story board and was also a lot easier. We also found different videos online of how to do special effects makeup and uploaded them to our blog page, this was a good way of doing it because this way, ourselves and the audience were able to watch and engage step by step. What software was used? during our research and planning, we mainly used Adobe Premier Elements 10, When it came to uploading our videos to YouTube, I found this very easy and straightforward because I already knew how to work YouTube and how to edit and upload stuff. When editing our film we used a software called Adobe Premiere Elements 10 which is a software I was not familiar with and I find it difficult to get my head around how it works.  ...
